A Void

by | Jan 8, 2003

Like tears, I have given you a fountain of salty fresh youth

Drink your fill, till the brim of your glass is full

It is my sorrows you let sink down deep inside of you

Pain, suffering, and grief, you swallowed inside your hull

You do not know what pain has come to pass

Suffering is beyond you, for the wisdom that you lack

Grief terrifies you, the meaning of a void

Sadness, now not mine, but parted to your side

Listen one more time, as I have told you no lies

People sacrifice time and love for a moment of sublime

Spotlights dim and fade in the blink of everyone’s eyes

While torment of a soul continues, when love has been denied.
